In Nigeria, six people - including a priest - were killed during the celebration of Christmas mass as a result of attacks on two churches in Maiduguri in the northeast of the country carried out by suspected Islamic extremists. Chain explosions occurred in Jos, in the central state of Plateau, the scene of frequent clashes between Muslims and Christians have killed at least 32 people and wounding 72.
